Henry Doorly Zoo– The first stop you must make while in Omaha is the Henry Doorly Zoo. Founded in 1894, the Doorly Zoo is known for breeding endangered species and having exhibits for animals from the wild kingdom. Visit the monkeys of Madagascar and the safari park exhibit where you can hike or drive and explore North American animals like deer, bison and elk. A must-see is the Lied Jungle which is the largest indoor rainforest exhibit in the United States. Children 3-11 is 9 and Adults are 13.50 and the zoo is open year-round.

The Durham Museum–Take a look into Omaha’s history from the laying of the historic railroad to the present. The museum opened in 1931 as Union Station. The art deco building has been restored and renovated in order to preserve the deep history within those walls. The museum is great for all ages and is a more educational route to a vacation. History is important to understand the present. With this statement in mind, you will learn more about Omaha and the rich history of this town. Admission for children 3-12 is 5 and adults are 7. Members of the Durham Museum are always free. The museum is open every day except Monday and closed for holidays.

Old Market–The Old Market is the place to get your arts and entertainment fix. The area is great for dining, entertainment and night life. Walk the cobbled streets and do some shopping. Afterwards, grab dinner at one of the local hot spots and catch a performance at one of the theaters or browse an art museum.
